The 7 Days Uganda Trek & Chimpanzee Tour will introduce you to the amazing primates in the Pearl of Africa that include chimpanzees and gorillas. You will visit two national parks that is Kibale Forest National park also known as a “primates’ capital “ and Bwindi impenetrable forest national park known as a home to almost half of the World’s population of Mountain Gorillas. The major activity on this trip is trekking both gorillas and chimpanzees. Uganda is a home to more than 53% of the world remaining mountain gorillas and the rest are in Virunga Mountains shared by Uganda, Rwanda and DRC. You will also get a chance to spot other primates, Kibale Forest National park which is a home to 13 primate species like chimpanzees, baboons, Vervet monkeys and other species.
Day 1 of the 7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek & Chimpanzee Tour will start will a pick up from Entebbe International Airport by our professional driver guide from Mutanda Gorilla Tours who will brief you about the 7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek & Chimpanzee Tour. He will then transfer you to your hotel for relaxation as you get ready for your road transfer. Dinner and overnight stay. Wake up to an early morning breakfast, there after you will be picked up by our driver guide and begin your panoramic drive South West of Uganda in Kanungu District. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will have the experiments of the northern and southern hemisphere differences. Then you will proceed and have lunch at Igongo cultural center which is near Mbarara city, the second largest city to Kampala and it’s also known as the land of honey and milk. After lunch you will proceed as you enjoy the beautiful hills in kigezi region and then check in at your lodge. You will then take a rest and get ready for the following days activities. Wake up early in the morning and have a hot breakfast, You will be driven to the starting point for a briefing on the Do’s and the Don’ts by a park ranger who will guide you during the trek, the trek takes about 1 to 5 hours depending on their location. You will learn a lot about their Lifestyle and behaviors. Gorillas stay in families and you will therefore have a chance to visit one of these families. As nature is unpredictable, you will look for these primates in the forest. Therefore, you can either find them earlier or later on your adventure. After the experience, you will return back to your accommodation for lunch. Later, you will head out for Nature walk that will provide relaxed opportunities to explore one of Uganda’s rainforests. Upon waking up in the morning, you will have a delicious breakfast then after check out from the lodge. You will start your journey to Kibale Forest National Park which is located in Western region of Uganda in Kabarole district. Along the journey you will have a stopover for lunch and then continue with the drive through the scenic views of Uganda’s landscape. You will arrive and check in to your lodge, relax and prepare for the following day. Dinner and Overnight Stay. The Day will start with an early morning heavy breakfast and then you will proceed to the briefing point by your guide. This is where you will be told about the dos and don’ts before you start off your trekking journey. This briefing is done by the professional game rangers and they make sure that you get the best experience with the primates. After the briefing, you will start off the trekking to look for chimpanzees in the forests. The Park has more than 13 primates. However you will also encounter other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, Olive baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys. This exercise depends on where you find these primates because nature can be unpredictable in its own way. Upon finding them, you will spend one full hour with them. In the presence of the professional game ranger, you will have a lot to learn about chimpanzees. You will observe how they use simple tools and their appearances. This is a lifetime memory. Afterwards, you will get back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.  Dinner and enjoy the tranquility of the forest. Wake up early in the morning and start your day with a heavy delicious breakfast after prepare for Bigodi Swamp walk. This wet land is known to have the presence of different primate species like black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and also Baboons. You can also spot forest elephants as they sneak to the neighboring gardens from the forest. You will get back to your lodge for lunch and take a rest. In the evening, you will visit the local community and experience their traditional way of life. You can take part in their activities like brewing coffee (coffee experience) and also learn about different herbs and how they use them to treat different diseases. You will then get back to your lodge for dinner and overnight. On this last day of your 7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek & Chimpanzee Tour, you will have breakfast and get ready for the road transfer back to Entebbe International Airport or Kampala. Additionally, you will have lunch on the way and thereafter proceed with the journey to the airport depending on your flight time, this marks the end of your trip.
