5 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari

Welcome to the 5 days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari experience in the Pearl of Africa. The safari will take you yet exciting encounters with different wildlife and Primates in the world heritage site called Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. You will create memories and have unforgettable experience while on the safari. You will encounter various wildlife, birds & Primates.

Safari destinations

Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park

Located in South Western Uganda in Kanungu District. The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking g and Gorilla Habituation. The park also harbors 120 mammal species like Elephants, duikers, yellow-backed duikers, Forest buffaloes, golden cats, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, civet, rodents and 350 bird species like handsome francolin, purple sunbird, red headed blue bill, African blue cuckoo, regal sunbird, breasted sunbird, Ruwenzori turaco among others.

Lake Mburo National Park

one of the smallest parks in Uganda. It is a home to a variety of wildlife including Zebras, Impalas, buffaloes, bush pig, topi, crocodiles, elands, buffalos, oribi, waterbuck, leopard etc. Bird species like African Fin foot, pied kingfisher, bare faced go away, Red faced barbet, Greater painted snipe, Blue breasted kingfisher, striped kingfisher etc.  Here you will relax and enjoy the scenery. The Park’s topography and vegetation are made of falling and raising hillsides, rocky outcrops, open and wooden grassland, rich acacia tree valleys, forests, bushes and thickets together with permanent and seasonal swamps along the shores of the Lakes.


Day1: Arrival at Entebbe International airport and transfer to your hotel

Day 1 of the 5 days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari will start will a pick up from Entebbe International Airport by our professional driver guide from Mutanda Gorilla Tours who will brief you about the 5 days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari. He will then transfer you to your hotel for relaxation as you get ready for your road transfer. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park

 Wake up to an early morning breakfast, there after you will be picked up by our driver guide and begin your panoramic drive South West of Uganda in Kanungu District. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will have the experiments of the northern and southern hemisphere differences. Then you will proceed and have lunch at Igongo cultural center which is near Mbarara city, the second largest city to Kampala and it’s also known as the land of honey and milk.

After lunch you will proceed as you enjoy the beautiful hills in kigezi region and then check in at your lodge. You will then take a rest and get ready for the following days activities. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking – Batwa community Encounter

Upon waking up by the beautiful sounds of the birds singing in the sky, you will start your day 3 of the 5 days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari with an early morning breakfast. Wear appropriate clothing for the day like a long sleeved shirt, a pair of karky or jean trousers, a round cap, and water proof boots. Pack some snacks and water to keep you hydrated during the trek.

Gorilla Trekking

After preparing, proceed to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the Do’s and the Don’ts about the activity by a park ranger who will guide you during the trek and also look out for Gorilla Families. Start the search for the mountain gorillas which will take about 1 to 5 hours depending on their location.

During your trek, you will encounter various primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey mangabeys, and blue monkeys and bird species like handsome francolin, red headed blue bill, regal sunbird, breasted sunbird, Rwenzori turaco, purple sunbird among others. On finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only one hour with them as you learn about their ways of life, how they feed and take care of their young ones, how they communicate among others. Feel free to ask as many questions as possible about these gorillas and take memorable pictures and then you will return back to your accommodation for lunch and relaxation.

Batwa community Encounter

Later you will visit the Batwa community who were the early inhabitants of the ancient Impenetrable forest before it became a National park and also a UNESCO World heritage site in 1992 and learn about their social ways of life, how they hunt for food in their ancient ways, visit a Batwa homestead to watch how they dance and also hear ancient legends and their folk songs and then you will return back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

Day4: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park- Evening Game drive

You will wake up early morning for a delicious breakfast and then check out from your lodge, then embark on the journey to nature.  Reach Lake Mburo after a journey of 3-4 hours and check in to your lodge. Have lunch, and take a rest as you prepare for evening Game drive.

Later in the evening, you will head out for an evening game drive. This park is one of the best parks where you can do a successful evening game drive and you will have an opportunity to encounter a variety of mammals that you would not be able to see during morning game such as giraffes, warthogs, impalas, elands Genet cats, Bush pigs, White tailed mongoose, Leopards, spotted hyenas and African rock pythons etc.  After the amazing game drive, you will go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day5: Lake Mburo National Park – Boat cruise and Transfer to back to Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel

On the last day of the 5 days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari, you will wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast after get ready for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. In the course of your boat cruising safari, you will have opportunities to meet a number of aquatic wildlife species such as hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, many bird species and other mammals like waterbucks, reedbucks as they have to swim and to drink water, this is a chance to catch a clip of those you might have missed on your previous evening. After this boat trip, you will check out from the lodge, and start journey back to Kampala. You will have lunch on the way and get to Entebbe international airport for your flight.
