After breakfast in the morning, our guide will pick you from your hotel and transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for a brief flight to Kidepo Valley National Park, a remote area located in northeastern Uganda.
You will then check into your hotel where you will have lunch and relax by the poolside before setting out for the afternoon game drive. Your starting point will be the Narus Valley, where you will catch a glimpse of numerous buffaloes, zebras, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, lions and maybe even the elusive leopards. Today’s game drive will be quite slow to allow you the opportunity to take pictures of the park’s numerous residents and scenic landscapes.
After the game drive, you will be driven back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast in the morning, you will go out again for another fascinating game drive, this time through the arid river bed, small forests, savannah, gentle hills and foothills of mountains where you will be mesmerized by the park’s unique flora and fauna.
You will also drive to the Karankorog Hot Springs, an area that will also reward you with sightings of numerous animals. The most interesting thing about Kidepo Valley National Park is that each game drive produces different sightings even if you repeat the same route. Expect some memorable Kodak moments!
After the morning drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading out later in the afternoon to spend some time with the Karamajong people for an insight into their unique culture.
At the end of the tour, your head will be swimming with scintillating Karamajong tribe culture facts. You will get to learn, first hand, that their passion for cattle is no different from that of the Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania and they are proud warriors who unreasonably believe that all cattle in the world belong to them – the reason they always raid neighbouring communities for cattle rastling.
You will also get to learn about their way of life, cuisine, traditional dance and cattle keeping. From here you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Today is your final day in this picturesque game reserve. After breakfast in the morning, you will go on a guided nature walk to see the numerous bird species and some animals before returning to your lodge to check out and fly back to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home.
