The 6 Days Best of Uganda safari takes you to 3 vibrant National Parks and Lake Bunyonyi .The Safari starts from Lake Mburo National Park Lake Mburo National Park Also known as the “whispers of the wild” and you will be able to sight the largest number of zebras in Uganda, the Park is one of the smallest parks in Uganda. It is a home to a variety of wildlife including Impalas, buffaloes, bush pig, topi, crocodiles, elands, buffalos, oribi, waterbuck, leopard etc. Bird species like African Fin foot, pied kingfisher, bare faced go away, Red faced barbet, Greater painted snipe, Blue breasted kingfisher, striped kingfisher etc. The Park’s topography and vegetation are made of falling and raising hillsides, rocky outcrops, open and wooden grassland, rich acacia tree valleys, forests, bushes and thickets together with permanent and seasonal swamps along the shores of the Lakes. Thereafter, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park Queen Elizabeth National Park Also dubbed as “The Medley of Wonders”. The park has a variety of offerings ranging from a visit to the Salty lake in Katwe, various mammal species of about 95 like the tree climbing lions at Ishasha sector, the 4 members of the Big 5 like Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions among other species like Antelopes, spotted hyenas, Hippos and endangered chimpanzees. The park also offers over 600 bird species to the birders like the grey crowned crane, handsome francolin, martial eagle, grey crowned heron among others and also an insight of the Nile crocodiles, Giant Hippos at Kazinga channel. You will experience the nature smile of Africa! From there, Connect to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the Ishasha sector – famously known for its tree-climbing lions. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park This safari will bring you close to the endangered mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in South Western region of Uganda in Kanungu district. It is best known for Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience, The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking g and Gorilla Habituation. The Trip ends at Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxation a place of little birds. The Trip will end at Lake Bunyonyi is located in the extreme border between Uganda and Rwanda and it is known for offering a great rest and relaxation to travelers due to its beautiful and breathtaking views.
Day 1 of the 6 Days Best of Uganda safari will start with a pick up form Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel by our assigned Professional Driver-guide who will brief you about the 6 Days Best of Uganda Safari and then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah National Parks but home to 350 bird species as well as animals such as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, hippo, and the elusive leopard. On arrival, we shall check in and if we still have time, we will proceed for a late afternoon-to-evening game drive then return for dinner and overnight. We shall enjoy an early morning breakfast on your day 2 of the 6 Days Best of Uganda Safari and then move out for the morning (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide. On this morning’s guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, and Cape buffaloes among others. You may take the Trail to the top of the hills to see Lake Mburo and beyond. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for checkout and embark on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Once you reach Queen Elizabeth National Park in time for lunch, have a short rest, and then proceed out for game viewing. During the game drive, we have the opportunity to encounter; herds of buffalos or elephants, lion pride, the elusive leopard, warthogs, and a number of antelopes among others. Thereafter, we shall return to the accommodation and you will take a rest. Dinner and Overnight Stay. Day 3 of the Safari will start with a heavy breakfast and proceed for briefing at the park’s center by a ranger guide. Thereafter, you will continue for Chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura Gorge. The Forest is home to habituated Chimpanzees plus other primates including baboons, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys and also bird species like African Finfoot, blue headed bee-eater, Martial Eagle, Bar-tailed Godwit, Black-rumped Buttonquail, African skimmer etc. On finding them, you will spend 1 hour of observing them and their activities. Thereafter, return to the lodge for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will then go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, you will furthermore enjoy sights of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others which will fascinate you, thereafter, you will return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight Stay. Wake up early in the morning on day 4 of your 6 Days Best of Uganda Safari for a heavy breakfast, you will then proceed for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Be on the look for Cape buffalos, elephants, lions, leopards among others. You will then head to Ishasha sector to search of tree-climbing lions, the chance of spotting these lions is about 70%. Should you get to spot them, the sight is picturesque and memorable. From Ishasha, you will then continue to your lodge at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. #Optional (extra cost USD 120$). You may consider experiential lion tracking that will see you join a predator research team who will eventually lead you to this expedition, you will then have dinner and overnight. Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then move to the rangers’ post. You will be briefed on the dos and don’ts during trekking and thereafter start the search. The time taken and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out, and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and Overnight Stay. On your final day of the 6 Days Best of Uganda Safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast at the accommodation with spectacular views of Bunyonyi’s little islands just right in front of you and thereafter embark on your return journey to Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel. Expect en route lunch and a stop at the Uganda Equator line mark in Kayabwe for some memorable photos and maybe buy some art pieces of interest. Proceed with the journey arriving late afternoon/evening for drop off at the airport back home or Hotel.
