Lake Mburo National Park

One of the smallest parks in Uganda. It is a home to a variety of wildlife including Zebras, Impalas, buffaloes, bush pig, topi, crocodiles, elands, buffalos, oribi, waterbuck, leopard etc. Bird species like African Fin foot, pied kingfisher, bare faced go away, Red faced barbet, Greater painted snipe, Blue breasted kingfisher, striped kingfisher etc. Here you will relax and enjoy the scenery. The Park’s topography and vegetation are made of falling and raising hillsides, rocky outcrops, open and wooden grassland, rich acacia tree valleys, forests, bushes and thickets together with permanent and seasonal swamps along the shores of the Lakes.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Welcome to Queen Elizabeth National Park the 6th diverse national park in the world. It has beautiful features such as Kazinga Channel, Crater lakes, Savannah plains etc. On your mazing boat cruise, you will spot highest concentration of hippos along the Kazinga channel and other mammals and cats not forgetting the famous tree climbing lions. There are more than 600 bird species like grey crowned cranes, Martial eagle, shoebill, African green pigeon, handsome francolin, Nubian wood pecker, swamp flycatcher, African skimmer etc.

Murchison Falls National Park

From there you will drive Murchison Falls National Park which is known as the top destination for tourists due to the wonders in this park like rapid falls, 4 out of the big 5 animals etc. It is found in the western region of Uganda and covers districts like Masindi, Buliisa, Amuru, Pakwach, Kiryandongo and Nwoya. The park covers 3840 Sq. km and is the oldest national park in Uganda. This park is a home to 76 mammal species including 4 members of the big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo). You can also encounter Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Other animals to expect in this park include crocodiles, water bucks, giraffes, 18 Days Uganda Primates, warthogs, Uganda kobs, hartebeest, Hippos, Bushbucks, Oribis, hyenas and various bird species like black bee eater, rare shoebill stork, weavers, grey crowned cranes, Abyssinian ground hornbill, Black-headed lapwing, Red throated bee eater among others.

Itinerary

This 8 Days Big Five Wildlife Adventure takes you to the three vibrant and fascinating national parks in Uganda. You will encounter Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Murchison falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo national Park. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is just one-hour drive to Murchison falls national park the only home for rhinos in Uganda and you will track rhinos with a ranger guide. This tracking at a close range will be an exciting moment as your first sight of the big five. Safari destinations Murchison falls National Park The home of the most powerful waterfalls in the world and is rich in biodiversity. This park is a home to 76 mammal species including 4 members of the big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo). Day 1 of 8 Days Big Five Wildlife Adventure will start with a pick up from Entebbe International Airport by Our professional driver guide from Mutanda Gorilla Tours who will meet and greet you. He will brief you about your 8 Days Big Five Wildlife Adventures. He will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. You will relax and recover from your long hours of flight. Dinner and overnight Stay. Rise up early morning for a hot breakfast and get ready to hit the road with your driver guide to Murchison falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary for Rhino Tracking. You will make a stopover in Ziwa, you will track white rhinos. This sanctuary is where you can sight rhinos at a close range in the presence of the ranger guide. But also you can see some antelopes, bush bucks, Uganda kobs, oribis, waterbucks and some bird species like Grey-Crowned Crane, Shoebill, African Fish Eagle, African Jacana, and Marabou Stork among other bird species can be sighted.  You will then proceed to your lodge to check in as you get ready for evening game drive. Later, proceed for a Unique evening game drive with an armed park ranger and spotlight torches which will enable you view the predators as they hunt like hyenas, leopards, lions, bush babies, hippos among others. You will wake up early morning for a hot breakfast on this day and start game drive through different trails in the park like Buligi trail, Albert trail, Victoria trail and others where you will be able to spot animals like elephants, giraffes, warthog lodge for lunch as you get ready for the afternoon boat cruise. Later in the afternoon, embark on an afternoon boat cruise upstream to the bottom of the falls. You will see the Nile crocodiles resting on the shores, giraffes, Bufaloes, herds of hippos while in water, bird species like the black bee eater, grey crowned crane, marabou stork and many others, you will have a view of the magnificent Murchison falls as it roars and pours its waters through a narrow gorge. The experience lasts for three hours. You will then return to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overstay. You will wake up early morning for a hot breakfast as you prepare for a morning game drive in the park where you will spot different animals like elephants, Giraffes, warthogs, lions, Leopards, Buffaloes in both the savannah and forested part of Murchison falls. After this experience, you will now hike to the top of the falls viewpoint to see, hear and feel the falls roaring. You will reach the breathtaking point where John Speke stood to affirm that Uganda is indeed the Pearl of Africa. You will hike at these falls and enjoy the stunning beauty of Uganda. Nature and animals as you contemplate the rapids of the amazing river Nile forcing in a 7 meters gorge falling more than 40 meters deep. You will return to your lodge for lunch and sign out. After this amazing Adventure, you will embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive and check in your lodge. Wake up early in the morning and start your day with a heavy delicious breakfast, afterwards prepare for the morning game drive. The game drive takes place in Kasenyi plains where you will get an opportunity to see buffaloes, leopards, bush pigs, and some bird species like swamp flycatcher, Marital eagle, shoe bill, Black bee eaters etc. You will also get a chance to take photos of these animals. Thereafter you will get back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, while on the boat you will be able to sight animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks etc. and bird species like African Jacana, African skimmer, rare shoe bill etc. and other attractions of the park. After this experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Upon waking up in the morning, you will have a delicious breakfast then after check out from the lodge. You will start your journey to Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is famous because of the tree climbing lions and this attraction is eye catching hence leaving you satisfied with the activity There is no clear research to explain why they climb but some speculations show that they want to have better view of the prey or running away from the insects and other parasites. You will also search for topis, hyenas, monkeys, leopards, birds etc. Thereafter, you will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park which is located in Kiruhura District in the Western Region of Uganda. You will enjoy the scenic landscape and the beautiful hills. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight. You will wake up early in the morning for a heavy breakfast. Then move out for game drive in the park trails where you will sight mammals like Impalas, 8 Days Big Five Wildlife Adventure, elands, topis, giraffes, zebras etc. you will take lots of photos hence creating memories. You will then enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Sight different animals like buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks etc. as well as birds like bare chested go away, Red faced barbet, African fin foot along the lake. Return to your lodge for lunch and get ready for horseback riding or mountain biking depending on your choice. Your 8 Days Big Five Wildlife Adventure ends today with a stopover at the Equator. You will have a delicious breakfast and get ready to be transferred with a stopover at the Equator line in Masaka for photos and experiments of the northern and southern hemisphere. You will then proceed to Entebbe international airport for your flight depending on your flight schedule and our team will be very happy to welcome you again.
